Menopause a dread or a blessing? – the mind

Just the word it says implicate a transition or a pause or and end of something. If you are lucky, you might get away with minor symptoms, some unfortunately not – if you have problems with night sweats and other symptoms please – read more about that here – soon up1

I see the whole process as going through a major life change, for better or worse. It´s a new period, that truly marks a new beginning. Most of us have grown children or at least on their way to become adults. For the first time in many years we can actually experience freedom on a different level.

And sure it might feel sad when you reach menopause and your body clearly state that you can not bare children anymore. But it is also a good. You´re body have created new humans and now it´s time to create something new. Look at your self and revaluate your knowledge and skills and use it to be of assistance to something new. It is time for YOU!

If you are like most of us, you might be lost, not really knowing what to do. We women take motherhood extremely focused. When we become mothers nothing else really matters, you are a mother and that is the only thing that counts.

But honestly, when you reached this beloved age, where your body is no longer in the service of creating new humans – you should take the opportunity to use your knowledge to build something new, something that will bring YOU joy and pleasure. Do you remember what made you tick before you become a mother/wife? what was it? Do you recall? Find it again and work on it. or find something else. Its time for you now, time for a new beginning.

Embrasing the last of summer

I can not believe we are heading toward fall and most scary, winter.

Everything and everyone is so much nicer in the summer. I love the warm winds, the beach blonde looks and a nice tan.

Staying healthy and fit is also easier during the warm summer months. You get filled with your much needed vitamin D. And fruit and vegetables taste so much better. I am not ready to let summer go! .

Summer bliss turns in to summer blues

Self respect ✊🏻

You have the choice each morning you wake up to make the day different. You have the choice to continue your journey to either a new destination or continue the same path.

It might start as a thought that you keep in your soul as a dream, until the time is right for it to come out. Whatever your choice is, make sure you respect yourself today.

That is a choice you should choose every day💕

Becoming you

Yes, i know its a worn out topic these days- but it is so important, I can not stress this enough. I find it sad to see so many women totally lost in a made up world. Picture perfect on the outside but totally empty on the inside.

I see these women, living up to the standard, I do to, to a certain extent, I care about my health, looks but with that said- I also care about my soul, and who I am.
I was lost for many years, lost in a fake persona – who I thought I wanted to become. I was striving towards what society made up to be a norm for success, not understanding my own value, or what I can actually bring to the table.
It took years to where I am today, and I am still learning, exploring and developing each and every day.
Undertand the importance in self-development and always strive to become the best version of you, without being guilty. We women much more then men work from our emotions. Always consulting and considering others before we make our decision.
We like to feel that we have a our backs covered, it makes us feel more secure, but is it really? If you always need to have someone else take the lead in your decisions? I´m not saying that it is wrong to consult in others now and then, just make sure that the final decision comes from you.

Because, you can hide for a while, but soon enough it will start eating you alive. And most certain it will either make you sick or make you depressed. So you have the choice, make a good one.

You are here for a reason, live up to that, it´s your path-walk it!

Reflect over who you are.
Walk your path

Recharge yourself💕

I am an introvert, but with great social skills. I definitely need my own space and time to “recharge”.

It’s important to actually spend time on you, all alone, to reflect and find yourself again. So many people are totally lost, and have no idea who they are or what they want. They are trapped in other peoples stories. No wonder people are feeling depressed. If you are constantly living someone else’s life- how for filling is that?

I believe we all need alone time to think, that is why meditation is so popular right now. It’s also a way to beat dementia, depression and all kinds of mental illnesses.

I do it differently depending on my mood, but yoga flow is a part of it. During the weekdays I get up an hour earlier to have “alone time” with my yoga pass.

Another favorite is running, yes it might sound strange, but it works as meditation for me. I take of for a medium jog, just to clear my mind.

I also make sure to listen to good motivational speakers from now and then just to remind me of where I am going.

How do you recharge?

Stay young and healthy – diet or no diet?

Food is the source to wellness for sure, I hope more people understand the power of good nutrition foods. What you feed your body will actually show on your overall health.

As a small child I had numerous of skin and over all health problems. I was always sick, mostly ear and throat infections. I was constantly on penicillin and all it did was was killing my good gut bacterias.

My joint started to ace at the age of 15 as well as my kidneys, It was a dead end loop. During my 20th I was battling astma (disappeared when I was expecting my second child), during my 30th I was OK, some skin issues. Not until I was in my 40th and my daughter was diagnosed with gluten intolerant it finally occurred that that was what I had to.

It took a good 6 mons for me to heal, and gradually my body started to respond in a positive way. Today if I cheat and eat gluten, my body can handle it up to a certain point- then boom – all the symptoms shows up, eczema, joint pain and a sense of feeling low.

So today, I eat good, healthy food, mostly plant based, due to lack of good bacterias in my stomach, I need to take supplements. I practice intermitting fasting, I believe that our body needs the break from processing food, especially as we grow older and cell turnovers as well as metabolism slows down.

It feels good to give my body “spa time”..

Stay younger – fitness routine

I am approaching 50, and I am a mother of 4. In my mind I am closer to 25, but my body and skin is not. I want to stay healthy and still look great without overdoing anything. I believe in balance, I am not going to give up life, just to stay “young”.

Raised in a family where sports was a part of everyones life, we were always active, from downhill skiing to using our bikes to travel to and from school, the city, friends. I have always been busy. In my late 20th up to 45 running was my passion. No long distance, my longest run ever was a half marathon.

Lately my body is not as keen to run anymore, and I believe in listening in on my body. Today I might run once a week, lift weight once a week and do short 20-25 minutes yoga flow sessions (in the morning) 4-5 times a week. I have added Yoga in to my practice, for the flexibility it gives me and not to forget the deep breathing.. I still use my bike daily – everywhere I go.

And yes, nothing is for free and the older you get the harder you have to work. No short cuts, next up I will talk about diets, and no diets.

Sadness – what a world we live in!

I preferred not to follow the news, because of all the negativity that is written there. Yes, of course you need to stay in touch with reality and what is going on in the world – but it´s just so sad. From climate ignorance to wars, rapes, abuse, young people killing each other, school shouting to crazy power hungry leaders all over the world.

Thank God, there are a lot of beautiful initiative out there like #gretathunberg, just sad that she gets so much negative feedback. The same thing happened with #metoo , it came it blew up and during a short period, women were fronted. Still almost 2 years have past and not much have really changed.

This wonderful place we call home – the World – is totally free , no one have ever set a price on her. She keeps suppling us with air, water , and all kinds of foods. She gives us beautiful places to visit and live. What gives us the right to just abuse her the way we do? We are all here together for a short time each, why not create the best of it?

Love and appreciate life.

Health in different ways and forms

Being fit is absolutely a good way to stay young and healthy. However becoming older, your cells turnover slows down, which means it takes the body longer to recover both after activity and a wound.

The skins elasticity decrees. You have to work harder with what you have. I still believe strongly in maintaining your HIIT training 3 times a week for a-proximity 30 min per session – during this time you should really sweat 😓. If you jog, do burpees or really intense Yoga, is all up to you. Just get that heart pumping. This will kickstart your growth hormone. The second thing I vote for is Yoga, all sorts – This will give you the flexibility you need.

Third, you need – me time. It will keep you sane and focused.

Fourth but not last – keep curious to new things, new music, new places , new people, trends. A lot of people get stuck in a old way of thinking.

Pure love from Florida☀️

How can anything be so beautiful🥰? Living in the northern part of Europe in a country where the winter outshines the summer by many months and the sun barely goes up during the month of December , this is pure love.

Sweden is beautiful in many ways and yes, during summer we get the opposite, we have the long summer days when the sun barely sets. But one thing we don’t have is fresh fruits like this, the taste is amazing.. staying healthy is so much easier when surrounded by these options☀️
