Micro needling, peels, AHA, BHA, laser, botox, fillers and so much more! where do one start and where does it end?
I grew up during the 70’s and 80’s when sunscreen was a bootle of coconutoil with a maximum protection of 2, No one really knew the danger of the sun until it was a bit too late. I have medium fair skin, and burned quite easy as a child and believe me it shows now.
I m suffering from different pigmentations issues. And I really dislike it, uneven skin tone is not very flattering and yes I am over possessive when it comes to wearing sunscreen today even though I do like to get tanned, it is still painful to see the spots developing as I am getting tanned.
Pigmentation, you can never get rid of it without laser or hard core peeling, something I am not to crazy about.
I did a serie of Fraxel (laser) since I developed melasma during my third pregnancy. The melasma disappeared but I got a darker shade around my mouth, not attractive at all and no matter what number sunscreen I use it shows up the minute the sun is out!
But, I want to stay fresh meaning I am not just letting things go south. I eat right, I exercise trying to loose and tone, (not easy after 40) and use products that suppose to work wonders. Can’t say I see that much of a difference yet, I still have to give it time and as always my skin gets irritated when I try new products.
This is a mix of products I use, I am also in to micro needling something I find benefit my skin in many ways. Will give you a full update after my 5th session. So does anyone out there have experience from really good products that really give results? Please share🙌🏻
Hi you all! I have always since I can remember been active in sports of some kind. I am truly happy for that as that has helped me in maintaining a good normal weight.
However growing up during the 70-80ies the food choices was not in my or anyone’s favor. I blame my constant battle with illnesses and eczema’s to milk and gluten. It was not until I turned 30 I would really starting to enjoy salads and good nutrition foods.
And with that I mean most plant based, not completely vegan however I could probably do that if I didn’t have to make sure my children got feed properly😊
Becoming older I have noticed that my body is more sensitive then it use to be, and it has all to do with, what I eat. I have tried going Keto with meat and dairy and even if the diet itself works I do not like the way my body feels. I fell stuffed and not fresh at all. My skin needs tons of leafy greens, good avocados, healthy and fresh organic greens.
The good part of Keto is that you don’t feel hungry 😋, so I am made a change and made it more green to fill it with “green” fats instead. With green fats means nuts and avocados and different oils.
Within a week of quitting sugar and restrict my diet to a more healthy Keto I can clearly see a difference in my skin and body. I look a lot healthier, as I had been on mountain hike.
So to give my body the best tools for aging the best way possible I will stay away from sugar, eat during a 6 hrs eating window, enjoy red wine once in awhile and stock up on those must to have vitamins- C, Zink, Magnesium, and different sets av Vitamin B’s, all good for your cells turnover which will give your skin a glow.
I hope 🤞 that you have gone through life with a large share of happiness and some must needed struggles. I see all struggles as a a part of the school of life. And most of all I see it as a sort of wake up call to guide you back to the path- you are meant to walk.
With age comes smartness in the sense of what you can actually contribute to the world 🌎. When you are young, you have a different set of drive and fearlessness, this is the best time to explore that! Hopefully you have tried everything that came your way, and dared to let your fantasies run wild.
As you are getting older a different set of responsibilities emerge, responsibilities mostly towards others. And with that comes limitations of course, but also a lot of love and happiness.
So how do you age smart? Well use your knowledge and spread it to others. You have gain so much wisdom during your life, it’s time to spread it. What stopping you? And with that, you should also live your life with dignity and respect.
Respecting yourself is crucial. Take care of yourself in all ways. You know by now what you enjoy – priorities that. You have earned it. Help others without it being a burden- see what your help actually provides to others. it’s actually proven that helping others maintain your sense of belonging which is such an important health indicator when becoming older.
Body and mind go hand in hand, always remember that and if you treat your body as a temple and your mind as a GOD, you will age smartly . With happiness comes beauty in all ways.
Taking care of the body and mind goes hand in hand, the older I get the more important it gets to really listen in, and you do it through your soul.
A couple of years ago, I did not listen, well that was not really true. I was listening but I refused to pay attention to the signals I was getting and that unfortunately left me with chronic skin issues, mostly related to my skin. I was a pleaser in many ways and was battling with selfempowerment.
I was the nice, kind one. Always flexible and happy to anyone else but myself. Anyway, it led to problems with my skin, real skin problems.
It started out as rash around my eyes which spread to other parts of the body. This was getting really bad to a point were I could barely go out. I went to the doctor who prescribe different ornament that made my skin temporary better for a short awhile. But nothing really helped and it was so depressing. Superficial? maybe but still. So I started to listen in and also experiment with cutting out certain foods, mainly gluten and dairy.
And sure enough things started to get better. Today I am 99% gluten free by choice and my skin is much better. So now I take time to listen in and focus on just nurturing my body with good thoughts, healthy food and couple of NO´s now and then. My skin is still an issue from time to time. But if I eat well, and listen in, my body and mind are in balance and I feel great.
So from now on, I have decided to really be good to my self, by that i mean really eating healthy, what ever that means :)- More vegan, less sugar, less salt, and more meditating, pilates and me time.
Wow, where to start? I am strong believer in loving your self and really embrace what life has giving you. We are all beautiful inside and out, you know that already, but still. As a woman, you go through a lot of changes during life. The biggest changes comes often after childbirth, some things are going south, and believe me something are going north.
With estrogen decreasing in your body, changes start happening. Fat deposits moves, you might find your behind become flatter, and if you are blessed with a waist, you might find parts of your behind is actually moving north, ending up around your waist as muffin tops. You are also loosing muscle mass, and with loosing muscle mass comes loose skin as there is no muscle underneath supporting it..
You need to change you exercise routine, you need to opt up the weight lifting to keep your muscle tone, and skip the really long distance runs as this is quite stressful for the body. As you get older your cell turnover is a lot slower, and it takes longer time for the body to recover. If you do HIIT do it no more then 3 times a week and do Yoga for flexibility.
I use Jojoba oil, both for body and face. I like the softness it brings and also that it is very natural, with that said, i use stronger retinal product as well. You need stronger product with aging skin, not only on your face and neck, but also on the rest of your body. Dry scrubbing is very much needed, every other day to get rid of old dull skin, before hitting the shower.
And most of all – Be happy, if you are not happy, make it your goal to be.
As a women, specially in the western part of the world we are constantly bombarded with tips on how to stay young. I feel a bit sad, as there is nothing wrong with aging. It´s actually a gift, with age comes a matureness, an deeper understanding for others, a love for life and general happier view on life. We should be grateful for every morning we wake up, as it is a true miracle. With that said, you do not have to become old just because you are getting older.
I meet people all the time who are saying – I am to old for that, that is not for me, I am an old woman , old man and so on! If you limit yourself to those thoughts – you are old. It´s all in your mind. If you limit your life and loose your sense of curiosity as well as your willingness to try new things – you will become old.
We are seeing a trend in aging women on the catwalk, grey ambassadors (stop coloring their hair) and much more. All of a sudden it´s actually cool to embrace your aging- I love it! Saying this, you still need to keep your self healthy and even more relevant keep active and care for your body and mind in a different way then you did when you were younger. Learn to love yourself in a new way, give your self the respect you deserve and why not try something different?
Life has given me a lot of heads up and learnings the last couple years. It’s finally time to work on them.
3 areas that needs to be in harmony for everything to work out. I see setbacks as a reminder sent from life itself to get your act together and move towards your own goals. Be strong enough to stand up for your own inner hopes and thoughts, not someone else’s 👉🏻 yours and yours only.
Working on a detailed plan is a must👉🏻 just to remind you on where you are going.
My areas of plans are.
Business 👉🏻 still have plenty of more work time in me, don’t believe in retirement at the age of 40 unless you have another for filling purpose. The plan is in making the focus now is moving forward regardless
Body 👉🏻 nutrition, health and anti-aging, not that I am afraid of getting older. I just want to be the best version of me, a bit leaner and detoxed.
Me 👉🏻this being the most critical, I need to work on me to be able to work on the rest❤️
