I have set a goal, actually I have a couple of goals but I will invite you to follow one of them – my health plan. I am in no way unhealthy, but I want to make changes inside and out. My plan is to reduce sugar intake to 0 during these 21 days and with that, put in different excersizes that will benefit not only my physical body, but also my mental mindset.
I have a couple of weeks were I can control my schedule and time so why not set mys self up for a test.
Being middle age, and head diving in to menopause I need and want to help my body become the best version possible. As it is not responding the way it use to and even If I love the strength it has giving me through the years it is more sensitive and not really as responsive as it has been. This challenge will also test my mental power. So this is my plan.
For foods, only plant base for these 21 days, I will follow a Dr Gundry Plant Paradox diet. I will stick to a intermitten fasting with a 4 – max 6 hrs eating window. This will let my body heal inside and out.
Plenty of water and green matcha as well as coffee. As my body is low in ferritin (Iron) I need to take iron supplements as well as vitamin C as this will help the body with the Iron and its a great supplement for staying healthy. I will also give my body B-12, Omega 3 and Silica and some natural fermented estrogen. I will list all the supplements along the journey.
Wow, where to start? I am strong believer in loving your self and really embrace what life has giving you. We are all beautiful inside and out, you know that already, but still. As a woman, you go through a lot of changes during life. The biggest changes comes often after childbirth, some things are going south, and believe me something are going north.
With estrogen decreasing in your body, changes start happening. Fat deposits moves, you might find your behind become flatter, and if you are blessed with a waist, you might find parts of your behind is actually moving north, ending up around your waist as muffin tops. You are also loosing muscle mass, and with loosing muscle mass comes loose skin as there is no muscle underneath supporting it..
You need to change you exercise routine, you need to opt up the weight lifting to keep your muscle tone, and skip the really long distance runs as this is quite stressful for the body. As you get older your cell turnover is a lot slower, and it takes longer time for the body to recover. If you do HIIT do it no more then 3 times a week and do Yoga for flexibility.
I use Jojoba oil, both for body and face. I like the softness it brings and also that it is very natural, with that said, i use stronger retinal product as well. You need stronger product with aging skin, not only on your face and neck, but also on the rest of your body. Dry scrubbing is very much needed, every other day to get rid of old dull skin, before hitting the shower.
And most of all – Be happy, if you are not happy, make it your goal to be.
I am approaching 50, and I am a mother of 4. In my mind I am closer to 25, but my body and skin is not. I want to stay healthy and still look great without overdoing anything. I believe in balance, I am not going to give up life, just to stay “young”.
Raised in a family where sports was a part of everyones life, we were always active, from downhill skiing to using our bikes to travel to and from school, the city, friends. I have always been busy. In my late 20th up to 45 running was my passion. No long distance, my longest run ever was a half marathon.
Lately my body is not as keen to run anymore, and I believe in listening in on my body. Today I might run once a week, lift weight once a week and do short 20-25 minutes yoga flow sessions (in the morning) 4-5 times a week. I have added Yoga in to my practice, for the flexibility it gives me and not to forget the deep breathing.. I still use my bike daily – everywhere I go.
And yes, nothing is for free and the older you get the harder you have to work. No short cuts, next up I will talk about diets, and no diets.
