Staying healthy and look amazing past 40😉

Hi you all! I have always since I can remember been active in sports of some kind. I am truly happy for that as that has helped me in maintaining a good normal weight.

However growing up during the 70-80ies the food choices was not in my or anyone’s favor. I blame my constant battle with illnesses and eczema’s to milk and gluten. It was not until I turned 30 I would really starting to enjoy salads and good nutrition foods.

And with that I mean most plant based, not completely vegan however I could probably do that if I didn’t have to make sure my children got feed properly😊

Becoming older I have noticed that my body is more sensitive then it use to be, and it has all to do with, what I eat. I have tried going Keto with meat and dairy and even if the diet itself works I do not like the way my body feels. I fell stuffed and not fresh at all. My skin needs tons of leafy greens, good avocados, healthy and fresh organic greens.

The good part of Keto is that you don’t feel hungry 😋, so I am made a change and made it more green to fill it with “green” fats instead. With green fats means nuts and avocados and different oils.

Within a week of quitting sugar and restrict my diet to a more healthy Keto I can clearly see a difference in my skin and body. I look a lot healthier, as I had been on mountain hike.

So to give my body the best tools for aging the best way possible I will stay away from sugar, eat during a 6 hrs eating window, enjoy red wine once in awhile and stock up on those must to have vitamins- C, Zink, Magnesium, and different sets av Vitamin B’s, all good for your cells turnover which will give your skin a glow.

Stay young and healthy – diet or no diet?

Food is the source to wellness for sure, I hope more people understand the power of good nutrition foods. What you feed your body will actually show on your overall health.

As a small child I had numerous of skin and over all health problems. I was always sick, mostly ear and throat infections. I was constantly on penicillin and all it did was was killing my good gut bacterias.

My joint started to ace at the age of 15 as well as my kidneys, It was a dead end loop. During my 20th I was battling astma (disappeared when I was expecting my second child), during my 30th I was OK, some skin issues. Not until I was in my 40th and my daughter was diagnosed with gluten intolerant it finally occurred that that was what I had to.

It took a good 6 mons for me to heal, and gradually my body started to respond in a positive way. Today if I cheat and eat gluten, my body can handle it up to a certain point- then boom – all the symptoms shows up, eczema, joint pain and a sense of feeling low.

So today, I eat good, healthy food, mostly plant based, due to lack of good bacterias in my stomach, I need to take supplements. I practice intermitting fasting, I believe that our body needs the break from processing food, especially as we grow older and cell turnovers as well as metabolism slows down.

It feels good to give my body “spa time”..

Happy-body and mind

taking care of the body and mind goes hand in hand, the older I get the more important it gets to really listen in om your body, and you do it through your soul. For years I did not listen in, well that was not really true. I was listening but I refused to pay attention and that left me with chronic issues, mostly related to my skin. It has been really bad. I believe that was related to me not listening in on my inner soul. I was always the nice one, never getting in to to any problems, always saying yes, even if my heart and mind was saying no. I had been hiding for such a long time that one day my body gave up and I started to get really health issues. It started out as rash around my eyes, not always but now and then, that lead me to understand that my body was now intolerant to gluten, and all of a sudden I became sick from neglecting my self.

My skin is still an issue from time to time, and I notice that what I put in my mouth make my body react to certain things, It sure makes a difference, and the more I eat well, the less tolerant my body gets to when I cheat (eating gluten). So from now on, I have decided to really be good to my self, by that i mean really eating healthy, what ever that means :)- More vegan, less sugar, less salt, and more meditating, pilates and me time.
